There are a few wonky spots in the middle when smooshing the big quilt through my machine got a little tricky. I quilted this one myself, and it had been awhile since I'd done free motion quilting on a large quilt like this. Take a couple of backstitches to secure the seam and remove the partial block from the sewing machine. Sew the pieces together from top to bottom, stopping at the mark. TIP: Follow the directions on the package of printable fabric for how to set the ink on the fabric. Press well to heat set the ink- trim this piece down to 9x9. The blocks sew up fast using Diagonal Seam Tape (here's a video of me using it to make a heart block). Use a pencil or straight pin to make a mark 1/4' inward from the side and bottom edge of the large print (pin is illustrated upper right). Trim your photo down to 8×8 (it prints on an 8.5 x 11 size of fabric). I chose the colors in this quilt out of that tiny 30's floral print, mostly using near solids because it's all I had on hand. This block would even make a cute quilt on it's own!
